Connection Church presents Christian dramatizations at different times of the year, performed by our Kids Church and Teens Group. It not only gives our youth a chance to grow closer together as a team as they learn their parts, but it also helps them grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ's birth, death and resurrection, His teachings, and true stories from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Many of these presentations are performed to music to add dramatic emphasis and flair.

This drama is based on faith-building and life-addressing scriptures in the Bible; particularly Matthew 14:22-31. The skit shows Jesus beckoning a believer to walk in faith upon the water to Him. But, storms and rising tides of doubts, fears and guilt, represented here by "sharks," distract the believer from taking hold of God's promises of peace and security through Jesus. This skit is meant to teach believers not to look at the circumstances around them, but to keep their hearts and minds focused on Jesus, looking directly to Him. He will RESCUE us from those old entanglements and the seemingly insurmountable waves that keep us from an abundant, joyful and secure life in Him.

"Take a Walk Through Bethlehem" Presentation

Click on the photo if the slide show doesn't begin. The 2022 Christmas Dramatization was performed to the song, "Take A Walk Through Bethlehem," sung by Trisha Yearwood. The first act was a portayal of an outdoor streetscene with carolers and shoppers. The second act was a portrayal of a family at home on Christmas morning opening gifts and playing games. In between each of these scenes, there was a call to take a walk through Bethlehem to commemorate the TRUE reason we celebrate Christmas: to honor the birth of Jesus, our Lord. The actors were beckoned to come and kneel before the newborn King.

This dramatization was performed by our Kids Church and Teen Group, along with adults from our church family. A special thanks goes to B.J. and Debbie Langley for set design, installation, lighting and costuming, and for Debbie's continued coordination as the Director of our dramatic presentations.
